Sye Raa’, not a biopic! - ‘Sye Raa’ not a biopic!- Tolivelugu
After all the trammel with controversies and legal issues, here comes a statement that ’Sye Raa’ is not a biopic. It is a known fact that the descendants of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy have moved to the Telangana High Court seeking royalty for using the family history, house and other articles. The family has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) directing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to not issue censor certificate. On this note, in the respective court hearing on Thursday, the film director Surendra Reddy apparently submitted to the court that their film ‘Sye Raa is not a biopic while Doravari Dastagiri Reddy, the legal fourth-generation heirs of the freedom fighter claimed that the producer has promised them to pay 10% remuneration to 22 legal heirs. The Censor Board had withheld certification to the movie and all eyes are on the court’s further orders.
